Corporate Social Responsibility

At Omicron, equality and sustainability are some of our most important values. We pride ourselves on doing the right thing, whether that is for our customers, our employees or the environment. Below are some of the schemes, policies and accreditations that we continue to develop as the social and ecological environment around us continues to evolve.

EcoVadis - GOLD Medal Accreditation

Omicron have recently been awarded a GOLD medal by EcoVadis for sustainability. EcoVadis is an evidence based platform which puts organisations  through a rigorous assessment process to achieve a Corporate Social Responsibility rating.

It covers a wide range of CSR issues which are grouped into four themes: -

  1. Environment

  2. Labor & Human Rights

  3. Ethics

  4. Sustainable Procurement.

With a score of 67/100,  Omicron is in the top 5% of companies assessed by EcoVadis and demonstrates our commitment to sustainability and employee welfare.  You can learn more about the EcoVadis initiative here.

Omicron is a UK Business Climate Leader

We are joining the fight against climate change.

Our business has committed to achieving #NetZero emissions by 2050 as part of the UK’s Business Climate Leaders' campaign. When you buy from us you can be confident we are doing what we can to reduce our impact on the environment.

We aim to end our contribution to climate change completely before 2050.  It makes sense for our business, our customers and the planet.

The Omicron Treenitiative

As part of our ongoing commitment to environmental responsibility, we launched the Omicron Treenitiative.

The idea behind this is simple; for every instrument that we sell, we will dedicate (donate) a tree to The National Forest. By doing this, we hope to offset the carbon footprint of the instruments' manufacture and its' shipment to the UK. For this donation, there is no cost to our clients or suppliers, this one's on us.

The cost of this simple act is minimal, but we believe that the cost of not helping create a sustainable future, and not taking responsibility for our own actions, could be great.

If you would like to learn more about The National Forest and the tree dedication programme they run, as well as the various varieties of tree you can choose from, please click here.

Over 150 trees planted to date

Once established, these trees will capture over 3 tonnes of carbon per year.

That's the equivalent each year of:

- Driving 11,000 miles in a diesel car

- Charging over 360,000 smart phones

- 1,500 Carbon Dioxide fire extinguishers

Through the SME Climate Hub, we commit to lowering our impact on the environment through authentic action, halving our emissions by 2030. In making the commitment, we have joined the United Nations Race to Zero campaign.

End Modern Slavery

Omicron is committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings and in all our relationships.

To this end we are bound by our Anti-Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy.
