Merck pre-coated TLC and HPTLC plates

In most cases modern TLC utilizes pre-coated layers. Not only are they more convenient, their quality is superior to that of layers prepared from the type of adsorbents available for self-coating.

Several types of separation material, such as bonded phases, HPTLC layers etc., are only available as pre-coated plates and sheets.

Good quantitation of TLC/HPTLC depends on the quality of the sample application, the separation and on the use of good quality, reproducible HPTLC plates such as those provided by Merck.
