With a modern digital camera, images of chromatograms and other similar flat objects can be captured, with a quality comparable to that of pictures taken on a conventional instant camera.
The necessary equipment includes a lighting unit for all three required types of light (white, long wave UV and short wave UV), a suitable camera and a data handling unit.
